Description :

Many Excel spreadsheets rely on decision making formulas, such as the IF function. In this comprehensive presentation Excel expert David Ringstrom, CPA, leads off with a brief discussion of the IF function and then goes beyond the basics. You’ll discover ways that the IF function gets both used and misused, and then see several alternatives. These include CHOOSE, IFERROR, IFNA, MINIFS, SUMPRODUCT, VLOOKUP, and more. Over the years David has developed a rule of thumb that if a formula calls for more than a couple levels of nested IF statements then there’s very likely a better way to approach a given calculation.

In this Excel logic functions video, David demonstrates every technique at least twice: first, on a PowerPoint slide with numbered steps, and second, in Excel 2016. He’ll draw to your attention any differences in Excel 2013, 2010, or 2007 during the presentation as well as in his detailed handouts. David also provides an Excel workbook that includes most of the examples he uses during the webcast to help you learn logical functions in Excel.
